우연히 검색하게된 담수용 스키머입니다.
물 관련해서는 그다지 경험이 없는지라 제 짧은 경험으로는 해수용 스키머와 무슨 차이가 있는지 알 수 없군요.

Jetskim이라는 제품은 이름에서 연상 되듯이 강력한 벤튜리 인젝터를 사용하여 스키밍하는 듯한데, 이 제품이 강력한 스키밍을 행한다 할지라도 여러가지 덩어리들이 문제시 되는 거북사육조에서 그 효용성이 어떠할지 궁금하기도 합니다.

물론 제 개인적인 선택은 프리필터입니다만...

Jetskim Freshwater Skimmers improve water quality and make it possible to keep higher densities of fish than would be possible without a skimmer.

The Jetskim Freshwater range is suitable for aquaria from 500 litres to koi ponds up to 25000 litres.

These skimmers use a venturi injector system. As a result, waste products accumulate in the light foam that emerges from the top of the skimmer.

An ozone reactor for this skimmer is available on request.

 Improved technology has made it possible to skim off harmful protein compounds from freshwater.

The Sander freshwater skimmers are specially developed and tested for koi ponds and other freshwater applications making them the ideal skimmer for your freshwater pond/tank.

These skimmers remove proteins before they are decomposed to toxic compounds, and turbidity and algae will also be removed.

Skimming is achieved by bubbles produced by airstones, not a venturi, and therefore requires a suitable air pump or compressor.
In combination with ozone, these freshwater skimmers will considerably increase water quality.

Protein skimming or foam fractionation is the process by which dissolved and particulate organic carbons are removed from a liquid, in this case the fish culture water, by adsorbing them onto the surface of fine bubbles rising in a closed contact column against a counter-current water flow.

The bubbles burst and form stable foam at the top of the water column and the accumulated organic wastes are discharged from the column along with the foam produced.

The removed substances are called "surfactants" because they are surface active or "charged"

Benefits of Protein Skimming include:-

Removal of proteins and high molecular weight compounds.
Increased water clarity through removal of humic and phenolic compounds.
Increased oxygenation of the culture water.
pH stabilisation through removal of organic acids.

 
Performance is defendant on:

Salinity
Air to water ratio
Air bubble diameter
Column height
Air/water contact time
Use of ozone



Bubble size is the most important of these and within the control of the design of the protein skimmer.

An efficient air diffuser or venturi plays an important part in generating a swarm of bubbles that are as small as possible, ensuring maximum surface area for the adsorption of the organic compounds. Smaller bubbles also rise more slowly, allowing more contact time with the process water.

Generally it is difficult to generate a small enough bubble size in freshwater to achieve effective foam production (except in cases of very high organic loading) and therefore protein skimming is mainly only recommended for seawater or brackish applications where the salinity is more than 16 ppt. However, a number of freshwater skimmers are available for use in ponds.

Protein skimming is further enhanced by the application of ozone into the air mixture, which further oxidises and breaks down complex organic compounds as well as providing a degree of disinfection, depending on the quantity used.

    오랜만에 뵙습니다^^;
    역시 담수용 스키머라는게 있긴있네요. 이걸어떻게 찾아 내셨는지!! ㅋㅋ 대단하십니다.
    저역시도 거북밖에 키워본적이 없는지라... 물생활엔 모르는게 너무 많네요. 스키머도 실제로 한번 써봤으면 이해가 쏙쏙 잘될텐데... 큰수족관 한번들러서 구경해보든지 해야겠네요.
    저 사이트도 신기한물품들이 많네요. 온통새로운 디자인이네요 ㅋㅋ 역시 세상은 넓습니다.

    그나저나 키우던녀석 두마리가 다 수컷인거 같애서 걱정입니다^^; 한녀석은 수컷확정이고, 한녀석은 암컷이길 바랬는데 계속 꼬리가 길어지고 있어요;; 휴... 이렇게 되면 수컷2마리되는거 아닌지 모르겠습니다.
    이두녀석은 남에게 보내기도 싫고 그렇다고 새로운암컷녀석을 데려오자니 수컷이두마리나 있어서;;ㅋ
    암컷이 두마리면 수컷을 빌려오기라도 하겠는데, 수컷이 2마리가 될생각을 하니 되게 난감하네요.

      잉어 관련한 자료 찾다보니 우연히 보이길래 링크 걸어놨습니다.
      이상하게 찾으려고 하면 안나오고 엉뚱한 기회에 찾게 되네요. ^^



      ^^ 전 키우는 3마리가 다 암컷이랍니다.

      수컷만 두마리가 된다면 정말 난감하겠군요.
      뭐 아직 속단하기 힘드니 좀 여유를 갖고 고민하셔야 겠네요. ㅎㅎ
